During the healing process, a problem toenail can be replaced with a prosthetic one, so you can wear open shoes or walk on the beach without discomfort. In case of mechanical damage or a disease such as a fungal infection, we use a replacement nail made of antifungal gel.<\/p>\n<p>This treatment is indicated for:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Loss of the nail plate due to injury or surgery<\/li>\n<li>Fungal nail infections<\/li>\n<li>Onychorrhexis (lengthwise splitting of the nail)<\/li>\n<li>Onychoschizia (horizontal splitting of the nail)<\/li>\n<li>Onycholysis (separation of the nail from the nail bed)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>It is important to note that artificial fingernails and toenail prosthetics are not the same treatment, as different technologies and materials are used. This type of treatment requires a very experienced therapist who understands nail problems, not just aesthetics.
