Massage
Maderotherapy
A cellulite reduction technique using wooden tools, originating in Colombia
Cellulite is a change in the connective tissue located 4 to 6 mm below the skin's surface. Maderotherapy, a massage with wooden tools, aims to improve circulation, stimulate lymphatic flow and eliminate retained fluid. This technique also improves skin tone and stimulates collagen and elastin metabolism, resulting in smoother, firmer skin.
Many people think cellulite only affects those who are overweight, but that is not true. Slim people and even athletes can have cellulite, because the main cause is fat accumulation in the metabolism, not necessarily excess weight.
Ideally, the first maderotherapy treatment should take place right after menstruation, when oestrogen levels are at their lowest. This naturally gives better results in the fight against cellulite.
Please note that this treatment stimulates kidney function, so people with kidney problems should avoid maderotherapy.
Cellulite can develop at any stage of life, and factors such as stress and negative emotions can also contribute to it.
